iCARE Inaugurates Anganwadi Facilities for Rural Children

Inauguration of Anganwadi Facilities

Sindivihari & Tambekhani Villages, Near Umred | Thursday, 20th July 2017| 12 PM – 2:00 PM

Anganwadis are centres situated in villages meant for providing easy access of basic health-care & primary education facilities to rural mothers and children.  These include activities to combat child hunger, malnutrition, nutrition education and supplementation, pre-school activities as well as contraceptive counselling and supply.

InfoCepts iCARE supported World Vision India to build two pre-fabricated Anganwadis – one at Sindivihari Village and the other at Tambekhani Village which are situated around 30 kms from Nagpur city. Both the Anganwadis are equipped with Solar powered lights & fans which completely eradicated the burden of electricity bills. Play equipment for children added extra joy on the faces of mothers and children.

Sindivihari village had no proper place for Anganwadi since last 22 years and villagers were dependent on schools, residential houses and temple halls for conducting related activities. They were extremely happy to see the Anganwadi building erected in their village now and were assured of a safe and conducive environment for their children.

On Thursday, July 20, 2017, the inauguration and dedication ceremony of the facilities was conducted at the hands of Shri Dineshkumar Garg (Director-InfoCepts) in the presence of Dr. Micah Aiyub (Head-iCARE) and Raghuvaran Pandian (Associate-iCARE). The President of Zilla Parishad Women and Child Development Cell, Village Sarpanch, Anganwadi workers and School Teacher too were prominently present on the occasion.  From World Vision team, Mr. Sushil Kase (Program Manager), Mrs. Divya (Senior Manager) and Mr. Vikas (Program Coordinator) worked hard to make the program a huge success.

The inauguration was followed by some beautiful performances of children, who portrayed the cultural values of Maharashtra state through various dances.

Dineshji and Micah congratulated villagers for having Anganwadis and asked them to take maximum benefits of these facilities in their further growth.

Yet another feather added in iCARE’s cap !!
