“For what we learn with Pleasure, We Never Forget”
Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is really the work of childhood. Learning occurs naturally when children are actively involved and having fun!
To achieve this purpose, iCARE conducted “Nurturing Talent Programme” at YMCA School on 7th of January, 2017. The fun-filled activity began with Storytelling, wherein the children were narrated beautiful stories with morals. In order to make this effort visually appealing, iCARE project team created murals that displayed the actions of the story to manifest the true essence of these learnings and morals. Kids paid great attention to the teachings, which made this activity even more fruitful.
It was followed by yet another fun-filled activity, wherein the kids got a chance to showcase their imagination. The impression of their tiny palms on the huge white sheets, during the ‘Palm-Printing’ activity only made them chipper. Some painted a balloon, while some painted a car, and some coloured butterfly. The team helped and guided them throughout the activity ensuring their involvement. Few Action Charts were given to school to be displayed during their classes to inculcate the knowledge of colours, shapes and moral values in children.
Finally, after 3 hours of fun-filled learning, the children were given delicious nourishments. It was evident from their smiles that the programme gave many fun-memories to them, which they will cherish for a longer time.
This activity was possible only due to the unparalleled dedication of the iCARE Project team comprising of Madhav Choudhary, Raghuvaran Pandian, Kanwaljeet Singh, Shraddha Bhattad, Gaurav Doifode, Manish Makhija, Roshni Assudani, Madhura Kelkar, Ankita Gajarlawar and Ankita Bhattacharya.
