Industrial Visit of Wardha Engg Students at InfoCepts, Nagpur
Saturday, 04th Feb 2017
Empowering Girl Child has been one of the important focus areas of iCARE. In line with this, recently, an activity to groom engineering girl students from underprivileged background for campus interviews was successfully conducted by iCARE team.
About 40 girls, all the students of 3rd / 4th year of various engineering branches from different colleges in Wardha, visited InfoCepts STPI campus on Saturday Feb 4, 2017 for a day long industrial visit and grooming program. All these girls belonged to economically backward sections and were the recipients of Education Scholarship of Lila Poonawala Foundation. This program was entirely conceptualized, planned and executed effectively by this team.
Right from creating, administering and evaluating Aptitude Test, conducting Group Discussion Rounds, Resume Building Session and inputs on how to face interviews – everything was seamlessly & efficiently executed. Thanks to Nishant Suryavanshi for conducting the ice-breaking session, this made everyone comfortable. Special mention to Gaurav Doifode for creating the Aptitude Test. Pratyush Kumar conducted the session on “Introduction to BI”. Shreesh Tongaonkar delivered “Resume Building” and Micah conducted “Cracking the Interview” session. All these sessions were effectively coordinated by Roshni Assudani, Madhura Kelkar, Shreya Agrawal, Raj Patni, Lalchand Khilwani, Ankita Bhattacharya, Manish Makhija, Ganesh Tambe, Raghuvaran Pandian, Minakshi Bhalsagar and Shraddha Bhattad. Most of them also acted as evaluators / judges in the Group Discussions. These volunteers also conducted a few fun games at the end of the event. Finally, the participants were taken for a visit to our MIHAN Units. Thanks to Kapil Vighnay, Manoj Kantode and other Admin staff for their whole-hearted support.
The feedback was very exciting. For many girls, this was the first time that they experienced such sessions. Most of them expressed their earnest and heartfelt gratitude to entire iCARE Team for providing them this tremendous exposure and learning. They shared that this has been an incredible knowledge gain for them and this would indeed be very helpful for them as they prepare themselves for placements.
The entire iCARE Team deserves a big round of applause for creating this landmark program and expects that this will be further replicated and conducted for many other needy students as well.
